Summers Earns Passive House Consultant Certification
We are pleased to announce that Madison Summers, Architectural Designer, has met all the requirements as a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC) by the Passive House Institute (PHI). Passive House and its building standards are committed to reducing overall building energy use and carbon emissions. Its principles include a tight building envelope, super-efficient insulation, and reduced mechanical loads—which apply to all building types. Our designs for educational facilities, housing, and community projects incorporate these and other strategies, all with the goal of using 90% less energy than equivalent, conventionally designed buildings.
Madison shared this about her experience earning the certification. “Studying for Passive House was challenging but informative. The building principles are now engraved in my brain, and I can use them in every project that I touch, even if they won’t be certified. The beauty of the passive house way of building is that the strategies outlined will benefit any project in terms of energy consumption and human comfort.”
Summers joins Mike Frisina, Architect, and Sara Berg, Architect, as Ashley McGraw’s Certified Passive House Consultants. Sustainability is a key tenant of Ashley McGraw's design ethos, and our team of Certified Passive House Consultants integrates within our project teams to achieve sustainability goals.
Congratulations Madison!
