Berg Earns Passive House Consultant Certification

We are pleased to announce that Sara Berg, Architect, has met all the requirements as a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC) by the Passive House Institute US (PHIUS). Passive House principles—a tight building envelope, super-efficient insulation, and reduced mechanical loads—are applicable to all building types. Our designs for schools, housing, and community projects incorporate these and other strategies, all with the goal of using 90% less energy than equivalent, conventionally designed buildings

Sara’s expertise in high performance design at Ashley McGraw includes the Westhill CSD High School Renovation / Deep Energy Retrofit, Binghamton University Science IV Renovation / Deep Energy Retrofit, and the new Sustainable Energy Fund Net Zero Energy Office Building.

Sara’s certification brings the total number of CPHCs on our staff to four. This reinforces our capabilities, as well as our commitment, to the sustainable design of high-performance buildings.
