On Monday, March 8, 2021, Nicholas Signorelli, Principal, and Catherine Wolfe, Associate Principal, presented “The Path Forward: Finding Opportunities in Disruptions” during the 2021 New York State Council of School Superintendents (NYSCOSS) Winter Institute virtual conference. They were joined by Dr. Peter Smith, Superintendent of Jamesville-DeWitt Central School District.

Since the onset of the global pandemic, educational systems around the world have been faced with significant disruption. In a time marked by an incredible change comes a need for an incredible response. As educators, architects and designers, we are presented with an opportunity to take a moment and assess impactful, long-term solutions for educational facilities that will address this forced evolution of education and create conditions for successful student outcomes.

In this interactive session, they discussed how we can take what we have learned from this disruption to bring forward. What positive and negative impacts on education have been seen? What is possible in post-pandemic times?
