Ashley McGraw Architects to Present SPYNKA Mobile Prototype

Mike Lindstrom, Principal of the Early Education Studio at Ashley McGraw Architects will co-present in a virtual webinar hosted by the World Forum Foundation’s Bonnie’s Global Café on April 23 at 11:00 AM EST, highlighting an innovative project designed to meet the urgent childcare needs of Ukrainian refugee children in Poland.

The session, titled “SPYNKA Mobile: A Prototype to Address the Childcare Needs of Ukrainian Refugee Children in Poland,” brings together thought leaders in early childhood education (ECE) and socially responsive design. Attendees will hear from Robert Szczęsny of Fundacji Rozwoju Dzieci, Mike Lindstrom, and other experts working at the intersection of education, design, and refugee support.

SPYNKA and Ashley McGraw Architects have partnered on a pilot project for a mobile childcare center, designed with the specific cultural and emotional needs of displaced Ukrainian children in mind. The prototype integrates Trauma-informed Design (TiD) and culturally responsive practices into a flexible, purpose-driven architectural design.

“This is more than just a building. It’s a space for healing, connection, and continuity in the lives of young children navigating displacement,” said Mike Lindstrom.

The webinar aims to spark conversation and collaboration, and participants are encouraged to bring their own ideas, stories, and questions. It will serve as both a showcase of the SPYNKA Mobile initiative and a broader dialogue on how to deliver quality ECE services in times of crisis.
