Ashley McGraw Recognized by ASID’s Outcome of Design Awards / Featured in Metropolis
Launched in Fall 2018, the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Outcome of Design Awards celebrate the proof in the power of design. By highlighting new tools and processes in design, strategy, technology, and research, the awards seek to recognize projects that successfully illustrate that “Design Impacts Lives.”
Part of the mission of the ASID is to “communicate the impact of design on the human experience.” The winners of the inaugural Outcome of Design Awards were selected through an intensive application and judging process. Representatives from ASID, Herman Miller, and NeoCon collaborated to create an awards program that required designers not only to articulate their solutions but also to evaluate the occupant experience and demonstrate research-based results. All projects submitted had to have been occupied for at least six months.
Ashley McGraw Architects received an honorable mention for Binghamton City School District’s MacArthur Elementary School for helping the educational institution integrate environmental responsibility into pedagogy while serving a diverse student population.
MacArthur Elementary and the other winning projects of the Outcome of Design Awards were featured in the April 2019 issue of Metropolis for setting a new bar for design research, practice, and evaluation.
