Signorelli Presents on Design and Delivery of STEAM Education at NYSCOSS Fall Conference
On Monday, September 25, Principal Nicholas Signorelli presented at the New York State Council of School Superintendents (NYSCOSS) Fall Leadership Summit with Windsor Central School District Superintendent Dr. Jason Andrews on "Mythic Notions: Campfire, Cave, Watering Hole and Life - How Do These Influence the Design and Delivery of STE(A)M Education?"
STE(A)M Education has transformed the way educators and school designers approach student learning. The session discussed the ways in which STE(A)M is being delivered throughout New York State school districts, and how the facilities being created to implement this curriculum are planned and designed. Collaboration, active learning and access to technology are paramount to a successful STE(A)M learning space. The educational session included recent examples of innovation at Windsor Central School District and Groton Central School District.
Partnerships with local colleges and universities also make for strong STE(AM) education, and discussed how districts can utilize their higher education neighbors to enhance opportunities for students, thereby creating unique work/study experiences.
