Catherine Wolfe Pens NYSCOSS Councilgram Article on Addressing Cognitive Developmental Milestones through Learning Environment Design
Catherine Wolfe, Associate Principal and an Accredited Learning Environment Planner, was a featured contributor to the New York State Council of School Superintendents (NYSCOSS) Councilgram end of school newsletter.
The article, “Design with Students in Mind: Addressing Cognitive Developmental Milestones through Learning Environment Design to Optimize Student Engagement” asks how can the physical learning environment facilitate connections between where the child is developmentally and their education in a way that optimizes engagement and outcomes. Educational facilities are continuously evolving to fit the needs of technology and curriculum. As a community of educators and designers seeking to enhance student experiences and engagement, we should also continuously seek ways to infuse environments with opportunities for students to organically explore, engage, process, and understand the world around them.
