Accredited Learning Environment Planner (ALEP)
Responsibilities include:
Directs and gathers data and performs senior level research and strategic analysis of factors that affect learning environments (i.e. student learning styles, organizational culture, paradigm shifts etc.) Once changes are implemented, analysis effects of these changes on client sites.
Initiates/develops/reviews/directs/guides design and technical staff to develop solutions based on project scope.
Manages project work plan. Ensures adherence to set budget working closely with Project Manager and/or client on potential variances to the budget.
Continually reviews and conducts on-going research on workplace strategies. Writes papers on strategies topics and makes public presentations.
Provides guidance to design staff to use learning environment strategies solutions to select furniture and fixtures.
Provides guidance to design staff to use learning environment strategies solutions to develop space plans.
In unusual circumstances may be required to assist with support for field surveys.
Manages Design Strategy/Planning/Post-Occupancy budget. Ensures adherence to set budget and immediately informs PM and/or client of any potential variances to the budget.
Works with leaders and Business Development staff to look for opportunities to sell strategies services to existing and potential clients. Assists Business Development by writing proposals and making client presentations.
Manages and mentors the work of local Strategies staff. Oversees tasks and provide feedback on work product.
Oversees client interface and leads the maintaining and fostering of client relationships.
Supports Senior Director of Strategy in developing and implementing strategy growth and expansion of services in the market.
Actively participates and contributes in practice development teams and initiatives; leads multiple key initiatives.
Significantly contributions to thought leadership through available channels (ie. blog posts, white paper, speaking engagements, podcasts).
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge of the major phases of the design process.
Subject matter expert in strategy services.
Advanced documentation and field observational skills.
Experience and understanding in consulting methodologies and practices.
Extensive verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
Ability to direct presentation and graphic communication requirements.
Demonstrated ability to manage and lead staff through a combination of direct authority and subject matter expertise.
Working knowledge of budget preparation and proven ability to manage projects within budgetary constraints.
Adobe Create Suite skills.

Interior Designer
We seek to hire an Interior Designer with 5+ years of experience who has a sincere passion for sustainable design and is driven to create beautiful spaces. A successful candidate is a designer who is willing to push the boundaries of convention in problem solving and who has a personal connection/value in sustainability on a holistic level.
Working in education and multi-family housing studios, this interior design position is integrated into the project team from the beginning of the project, with involvement in programming and schematic design through construction administration.
Responsibilities Include:
Client interaction and presentations
Finish research and selection
Produce concept level design
Conduct product research
Furniture and casework design
Programming and space planning
Producing construction documents
Construction administration
Writing specifications
Coordination with multiple disciplines
Requirements Include:
Knowledge of Revit and the aptitude to quickly learn new computer programs

Accountant

This new position will be part of the administrative operations team, responsible for supporting and guiding the firm’s project and corporate accounting practices. The role transcends implementing accounting practices to include understanding and fostering the collaborative work ethic of the firm, and assisting the design teams to manage their projects profitably. The challenges inherent in this new accounting role will be matched by the rewards of working in a highly intellectual, creative environment among talented and friendly colleagues.
Responsible for managing the accounting operations of the firm, this role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and ensuring compliance with the relevant regulations and laws. The position will encompass the full spectrum of accounting tasks for a medium-size professional design firm.
Responsibilities Include:
Post and review accounts payable and receivable activity.
Prepare monthly accounting workpapers – bank reconciliations, trial balance, account schedules - to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained for all company entities.
Prepare monthly financial and supplementary reports.
Provide subject matter expertise on GAAP standards.
Oversee cash management and banking relations.
Prepare and monitor monthly client invoicing.
Assist in the preparation of bi-weekly payroll data for ADP processing.
Maintain account reconciliations and an effective internal control environment.
Post and review account activity and determine what journal adjustments need to be recorded on a weekly/monthly/annual basis.
Other tasks that may be assigned.
Requirements Include:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
5+ years’ accounting experience.
CPA preferred but not required.
A/E industry experience preferred but not required.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts.
Highly effective in managing cash flow, invoicing, collections, G/L, A/P and Payroll.
Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product.
Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively to maximize performance and results.
Technologically savvy with the ability to manage and manipulate data for financial reporting quickly and effectively.
Detailed and organized.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint software desirable but not required.
