Angarano and Evans Present at ERAPPA Conference
On Monday, October 30, Principal/Senior Interior Designer Susanne Angarano and Project Architect Jason Evans presented "Planning and Design Considerations for Effective Business Incubators" at the ERAPPA Conference in Washington, DC. ERAPPA is the Eastern Region of APPA: Leadership in Educational Facilities. The annual ERAPPA conference is a premier educational event for facilities professionals in education. They were joined by Daniel Mori, Director of Business Incubation at Binghamton University, and David Meyer, Principal at Pathfinder Engineers.
About the Session:
Business incubators are increasingly seen as an effective way to build upon the research and entrepreneurship at our colleges and universities. These facilities provide vital start up space for those looking to build businesses based on ideas developed within the university setting. The design of an incubator space must take into account a complex number of factors impacting the long-term success of the facility. This session will review key components in the planning and design of incubator space using the recently completed Koffman Southern Tier Incubator as a case study. The Koffman Southern Tier Incubator is a new 36,000 square foot incubation associated with both Binghamton University and SUNY Broome.
