Mike Frisina Recognized as 2022 40 Under 40 Awardee

Congratulations to Mike Frisina, Architect and Design Technology Manager, who was recognized as one of the 2022 40 Under 40 honorees by the Central New York Business Journal/BizEventz. The 40 under Forty Awards program recognizes 40 people under the age of 40 who have excelled in the workplace and in the community. He was recognized at an awards ceremony on November 10, 2022 at the Oncenter.

Mike’s primary work is as an Architect / Project Manager at Ashley McGraw Architects, where he has worked closely with many K-12 school districts around New York State to realize their educational facility improvement and advancement goals. As Design Technology Manager, Frisina plays a vital role in our firm’s digital practice.

Outside of Ashley McGraw, Frisina has been involved with the Central New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for many years, joining the organization in 2013. From 2018-2019, Frisina served as President of the Chapter. Since 2017, Frisina has served on the Board for the Syracuse Habitat for Humanity. 

Frisina grew up around radio stations and being known as the son of a local radio legend – as father, Dave, was one of the most well-known radio DJs in the Syracuse area for over 40 years. Developing his own passion for music, Frisina co-founded the band, Simplelife in 2001. They released their first full length album "Life in the Third Person" in 2004 to critical acclaim. The album won a Syracuse Area Music Award (SAMMY) in the "Best Pop Recording" category. Simplelife can be seen performing anywhere around Central New York including the Taste of Syracuse, 443 Social Club & Lounge, Westcott Theater, Funk ‘n Waffles, and numerous other local venues – supporting and promoting the local music scene.
