Child development center.
keene state college

The design process for creating an Outdoor Environment for Keene State College’s Child Development Center began with an interactive workshop led by studioMLA Architects and Robin Moore of North Carolina State University’s Natural Learning Initiative.

The workshop included participation of Center staff, parents, the College facilities department as well as College architecture students. The design of the new Outdoor Environment provides learning and play opportunities by introducing natural landforms and materials: hills, climbing rocks, willow tunnels, and sensory plant materials. The design also provides a setting for the Center’s Early Sprouts Gardening Project.
