Child Care Playground. Knoxville, TN

studioMLA Architects worked as a landscape architect consultant for Hixson Architecture, Engineering, and Interiors on one of their projects in Tennessee. We did a design charrette in conjunction with Hixson, which included the client, child care center staff, and interdepartmental staff to develop the goals of the child center’s play spaces.

Out of the interactive session, our goals were to provide age-appropriate play elements that provids nature play opportunities and a creative playspace reflective of the company’s culture. The play spaces was developed to be accessible and inclusive. It was designed to integrate the existing landscape and plantings on the site. In addition to gross motor play elements, gardening and natural loose parts building areas were included.
